- More than 7,000 John C. Stennis Strike Group (JCSSG) sailors returned to San Diego following a regularly scheduled seven-month deployment to the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
- Col. Jay R. Vargas, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, recently spoke to service members about the importance of finding help for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Former U.S. Army soldier Patrick Hogg suffered a devastating injury while serving in Iraq, but now draws on his injury and experiences to help other soldiers.
- Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James and Chief of Staff of the Air Force David L. Goldfein discussed the State of the Air Force during a press conference Aug. 10.
