We Recently held a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable with Army Col. John Ferrari, deputy commander for programs, NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Combined Security Transitions Command-Afghanistan for Thursday, Dec. 16.

Col. Ferrari discussed Coalition procured equipment given to the Afghan National Security Force to help them in their fight against insurgents in Afghanistan. He also discussed the development of Afghan industries that can supply ANSF’s equipment requirements.

DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable: Funding the ANSF

Army Col. John Ferrari, deputy commander for programs, NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Combined Security Transitions Command-Afghanistan participated in a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable, Aug. 4.

Col. Ferrari discussed how the command has been working with and funding the Afghan National Security Forces with a multi-billion dollar budget to build ANSF capabilities while helping Afghans on the road to self-sufficiency. Additionally, he discussed how this funding is providing the ANSF with required assets to grow and sustain their forces such as bases and items necessary to shoot, move and communicate enhancing their capabilities to defend their own country.

DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable: Growing and Sustaining ANSF

We recently held a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable with Col. John Ferrari, deputy commander for programs, NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Combined Security Transitions Command-Afghanistan for Thursday, July 8.

Col. Ferrari has direct oversight of the $11.6 billion budget to grow and sustain the Afghan National Security Forces. He is personally responsible for dedicating resources to the Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army to fight the counter-insurgency while building the Afghan economy. Some of these resources include developing training and housing areas and supply systems such as weapons, ammunition, vehicles, fuel and food.

One significant area for this progression is Kandahar Province, where Afghans along with coalition forces are building the Joint Regional ANP Center, a Regional Military Training Center and an ANSF hospital.

We recently scheduled a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable on Friday, June 4  with Col. John Ferrari, who serves as the deputy of programs for NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan.

Col. Ferrari discussed how NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan and coalition forces, for the past six months, have conducted numerous missions to build and sustain the Afghan National Security Forces while creating an “Afghan First” initiative through a multi-billion funded program.

Exercise Frontier Sentinel is a combined interagency exercise involving Joint Task Force Atlantic, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Command.
