Empower, Advise, Inspire, Assist

As the Defense Department transitions into a supportive role in Afghanistan it is important that we create teams that empower Afghans to stand on their own.

A small team of U.S. sailors assigned to Security Force Assistance Advisor Team 2-215 has been doing just that in the Sangin Valley. They’re building rapport and trust with Afghan medics to ensure a positive working relationship while helping them hone their skills for a smother transition.
