USS Freedom Maiden Deployment Concludes

After a nearly nine-month-long maiden deployment, the U.S. Navy’s first littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS-1) recently returned to her homeport in San Diego, Calif.. One of its stops included supporting those in the Philippines that were affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

The first of its kind, the LCS is a high-speed, versatile ship that offer’s tremendous capability to the 7th Fleet as well as new opportunities for the Navy.
