Aircraft Maintainers Keep Apache Helicopters Combat Ready

When you think of the military and the coolest jobs the service’s have to offer, odds are being a pilot would be in the mix. Pilots tend to get all of the glory. They are like the star running back on a football team. Ask yourself this, how great would that running back be without a great offensive line? The same can be said for pilots and their supporting casts, specifically their mechanics.

Being a pilot would be undoubtedly very cool but without a mechanical support team, aircraft would never leave the ground, and pilots would have nothing to do. It is often a thankless job that these men and women perform, and an incredibly stressful one at that.

With that said, take a moment to look behind the scenes in Afghanistan where aircraft mechanics are keeping helicopters combat ready.
