Mayday, Mayday!

Upside down, inside of a helicopter, in the middle of the ocean, directly after an enemy attack…that’s not exactly a place I’d ever want to be.  Marines assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment need to accept that this scenario could be one they’ll someday face.

To prepare for this type of emergency, they went to Camp Pendleton, Calif., to undergo helicopter evacuation training to learn survival skills in the event of a water-based crash before heading out for their next Afghanistan deployment.

Personally, I think the training looks pretty intense. Let’s hope they never have to put it to use.
