Forward Operating Base Sharana, Afghanistan, once a heavily populated base with approximately 6,000 troops  and a couple thousand structures has now dwindled down to only a handful of either. This however, is a part of the plan for U.S. troop drawdown in Afghanistan, and FOB Sharana’s closure is a sign of progress.
