Happy 66th Birthday to the U.S. Air Force

It was 66 years ago that the National Security Act of 1947 turned what was then known as the Army Air Corps into the United States Department of the Air Force. A strategic, tactical and defensive force for the skies, the Air Force has become a vital role in our country’s military power.

Many thanks to the remarkable men and women who have served Active Duty, Guard, Reserve and Civilian, as well as their families, for helping to maintain  our country’s air power.

Happy birthday, Air Force!
