Giving the Gift of Life

Story by Josiah Wilson, Defense Media Activity

I absolutely hate needles. I mean, with a passion. However, there have been a few occasions where I have been completely okay with being stuck with one. And all three of those times were because of a blood drive. There are so many reasons to give blood, including keeping an injured service member alive and helping children battle cancer. Although I hate needles, I’m more than happy to face my own fears in order to help save a life.

A particular mobile blood drive made recently made its way to Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., offering service members and area veterans the opportunity to save some lives as well.

*Fun fact: There are needles in this video clip.
