Biometrics Link Attacks to Their Creators

Let’s talk about science for a moment (and a just a quick one; I don’t want my colleague, Armed with Science blogger Jessica Tozer, to get mad at me for stepping on her turf). Did you know science plays a big part in helping deployed troops track down terrorists? Well, it does.

Bringing terrorists to justice is tricky work but soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment are doing their part hold them accountable. With the help of biometric technology, these soldiers are able to connect terrorist attacks with their creators by cataloging unique physical characteristics of possible suspects and comparing this information to clues found when an attack occurs. Pretty slick, huh?

Check out this video to see the soldiers putting this scientific technology to good use.
