Military Saves Week is Feb. 25 to March 2, 2013.
As it enters its seventh year, Military Saves has now become an integral part of the Department of Defense’s Financial Readiness Campaign. The goals of Military Saves for service members and their families include increased household savings for short- and long-term needs and decreased consumer debt. While Military Saves is an ongoing campaign, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Departments of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and the National Guard Bureau formally support the campaign during Military Saves Week, the last full week in February.
A Bloggers Roundtable on Military Saves Week took place Tuesday, Feb. 26, with guests Sgt. Maj. Bryan B. Battaglia, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, his wife Lisa Battaglia, and Barbara Thompson, Director of Office of Family Policy/Children & Youth at the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Military Community and Family Policy).
