Training to become an Olympian is a full time job for most and even then, the odds of being an Olympian are slim. Imagine having to juggle training for the Olympics and being an active duty service member.
On Monday, Sept. 17, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, DoDLive hosted a Bloggers Roundtable with 2012 Summer Games Olympian, Capt. Seth Kelsey and U.S. Air Force 2012 Athlete of the Year, Maj. James Bales. They discussed the Air Force World Class Athlete Program (WCAP). The USAF WCAP is a two-year program that provides active duty, national guard and reserve Air Force personnel the opportunity to train and compete at national and international sports competitions with the ultimate goal of selection to the United States Olympic team.
The bloggers on the call were Daniel Kissinger of MilitaryAvenue.com and Michele Cowell of MyMilitaryMatters.org
