Department of Defense General Counsel Jeh Johnson delivered the keynote address at the DoD’s first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month event at the Pentagon.
He was preceded by messages from President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. After his remarks, Navy Capt. Jane Campbell moderated a panel discussion entitled “The Value of Open Service and Diversity” with openly gay Marine Capt. M. Matthew Phelps and others.
