A Nation’s Gratitude, a White House dinner hosted by President and Mrs. Obama on February 29, 2012, served as a formal expression of the nation’s appreciation for the achievements and enormous sacrifices of Americans who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
The dinner invitees included service members from a diverse group of ranks, services, states, territories and backgrounds, who are representative of those who served in Iraq. Additional invitees were the Service Chiefs of Staff and the Secretaries of Defense, Combatant Commanders and Multi-National Force-Iraq Commanders whose tenures included OIF and OND.
