Military Financial Fitness

Service members financial readiness is an important part of the military mission.  The recently formed Office of Service Members Affairs, a division of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, held a Financial Fitness Forum for leaders of the military to discuss mitigating financial issues that distract service members from the mission at hand.

“[Our service members] who are deployed, deployed and redeployed shouldn’t have to worry about how they’re going to pay their bills, or how they’re going to put food on the table for their families,” said Sergeant Major Tomas Gills, Sergeant Major to the Army Deputy Chief of Staff.
