In “This Week in the DoD” for Nov. 25:

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for 30 wounded warriors and their families at their home in Washington, D.C. Their son, Delaware Army National Guard Maj. Beau Biden, and his family also attended.

Postal stations in Afghanistan are seeing major surges in incoming packages as the holiday season begins. Armed Forces Network-Afghanistan’s Spc. Crystal Madriz brings us the story.

President Barack Obama signed a bill into law providing new benefits for job-seeking post-9/11 veterans. The new law also provides tax benefits for American businesses that hire veterans.

Following the Congressional Super Committee’s failure to reach a deal on the federal budget, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta spoke to the crew and workers from General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., about the Defense budget. Unless Congress can reach an agreement before January 2013, at least $450 billion will be cut from the Department of Defense.
