Five military children, one from each military branch, were lauded during nonprofit organization Operation Homefront‘s “Military Child of the Year” awards on April 7 in Arlington, Va. The organization honors children who demonstrate great resilience, leadership, and strength of character.
First Lady Michelle Obama was present to address the awardees, heralding them as “shining examples to other young people.” She was in attendance as part of her continued support of military families.
