The 2011 Department of Defense (DoD)/United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Family Resilience Conference will be April 26-29, 2011, in Chicago. The goal of the conference is to create global delivery systems and partnerships to impact quality of life for military families.
A formal partnership between the USDA and the DoD will be formally launched with the signing of a proclamation. Key partnership projects include a Family Readiness Clearinghouse and the Department of Defense Child Development virtual Lab School System.
The conference will also provide a national forum for helping professionals from the Department of Defense and USDA/National Institute of Food and Agriculture to share resources on practice guidelines, tools, and processes to further education and practices.
The conference presentations will include current research, expert panels, keynotes featuring nationally known experts, exhibitors, and workshops featuring DoD and Children, Youth, and Families at Risk program tools, resources and procedures focused on active duty and reserve component military families.
Developing, refinining and sustaining partnerships in support of military families is a high-priority initiative of Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP).
