In the AFPS podcast for Oct. 7: President Barack Obama awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously to U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret Robert J. Miller; Lindy Cameron, head of mission for the British-led Helmand provincial reconstruction team, provided an update on the governmental and economic improvements in Helmand province;  Pentagon Press Secretary Geoff Morrell said U.S. officials and ISAF in Afghanistan are working with the Pakistani government to re-open the Torkham Gate crossing into Afghanistan; a National Cyber-Security Awareness month campaign calls on citizens to learn more about safeguarding computer networks; members of the Armed Forces are being warned about the dangers of legal designer drugs which are not legal for servicemembers;  President Barack Obama  extended the Retroactive Stop-Loss Special Pay deadline to December 3; and, Gen. Ann Dunwoody spoke at the Fortune Magazine Most Powerful Women summit on Oct. 6.
