Second “Ask The Chairman” Show Airs Today

By Ian Graham

The second installment of “Ask the Chairman: A Virtual Town Hall” aired today at 1 p.m. EDT on the Pentagon Channel, followed by an encore presentation at 5 p.m. EDT.

The program, which debuted last year, is a part of the broader movement in the military to engage troops and the public in a venue most are familiar with, online social media.

Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, took nine questions from servicemembers via YouTube, Facebook and Twitter on a variety of topics, from tolerance of servicemembers’ religions and sexualities to Iraq, Iran and “winning” in Afghanistan.
