We recently held a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable with U.S. Army Col. Mike Wehr, Director, Combined Joint Engineer Office, NATO Training Mission – Afghanistan, Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan.
NTM-A / CSTC-A Combined Joint Engineer Office, in coordination with key stakeholders, ensures adequate facilities to generate Afghan National Security Forces, develops engineer leadership at the ministerial level and builds sustainable capacity and capability in order to enhance GIRoA’s ability to hold and build stability and security in Afghanistan.
They are actively working through some key challenges that include projecting enduring facility requirements two years ahead of current operations, building temporary facilities in the Hold/Build of COIN, fostering ministerial development and engineering leadership/knowledge that has not been used in generations, educating U.S. and sponsor country leadership on the balancing of efficient and effective execution.
