Ma'am, Thank you so very much for your comment on DODLive.mil. My heart goes out to you and for the loss of your husband. I too, was so moved by what Maj. Gen. Trombitas wrote. And, just so you are aware, I have forwarded your comment to Maj. Gen. Trombitas via e-mail.

Maj.Gen.Simeon G. Trombitas,
I am moved beyond words after reading your article. Memorial Day was especially hard for me and our families. I was able to be with Ken and the many others resting at the Alabama National Cemetary. My heart goes out to all of the families that have lost a loved one while serving in our great Nation's Armed Services. Thank you for remembering Ken and all of our Nations Heroes.
Not a day goes by that I do not think about the people of Haiti. I pray that God will continue to strengthen the US as we continue to help rebuild and send aid to Haiti.
I am so proud to be a part of US Southern Command family and United States Air Force and especially proud of the man and officer my husband, Lt.Col. Kenneth D. Bourland was. Thank you for your service to our country and thank you to all of the men and women still serving as well.
God Bless,
Mrs. Peggy Bourland
