Maj. Gen. Stephen Lanza, United States Forces-Iraq Spokesman

United States Forces-Iraq Spokesman, Maj. Gen. Stephen Lanza participated in a DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable recently. Maj. Gen. Lanza spoke with bloggers about the continued increase of operations devoted to building stability, a reflection of improving security conditions across the country brought about through years of focused efforts by American and Iraqi forces.

Iraq and the United States Forces-Iraq mission supporting it are entering a time of significant transition. The cooperative effort of the ISF and the Iraqi people to improve security has allowed the U.S. to conduct a deliberate, responsible drawdown that preserves security gains and continues to build on our strategic partnership with Iraq. The improved security environment in Iraq and the increasing capabilities of the ISF and the government of Iraq have allowed for the U.S. to continue to move forward with our mission change in accordance with the Security Agreement.
