On Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. EDT we hosted a U.S. Army Bloggers Roundtable with students from the Command and General Staff College. The students that participated in the roundtable were Maj. Jackie Thompson, Maj. Yon Kimble, Maj. Craig Jones, Maj. Valeria Johnson, Maj. Timothy Draves, Maj. Coleen Carr, and Maj. Jay Anson

The students discussed logistical challenges and their effect on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Topics include the role of logistics in both theaters of operations, the current challenges faced and the impact of those challenges on operations.

The drawdown of forces in Iraq creates sustainment challenges for the remaining forces, while the conflict and environment in Afghanistan imposes a separate set of logistical constraints that impact operations. They will discuss how Iraq and Afghanistan are two very different conflicts with distinct operational requirements and logistical challenges.
