Yesterday at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington D.C., the 8th Annual U.S. Missile Defense Conference began and will last until Wednesday, March 24.
The overall objective of the U.S. Missile Defense Conference is to maintain the legacy of providing a world class, secure environment for all members of the U.S. Missile Defense Team to meet and discuss key issues facing the development, testing, and deployment of missile defense systems in support of national strategic objectives.
Throughout the conference, several high ranking government officials will be speaking including Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. James E. Cartwright; Deputy Secretary of Defense, William J. Lynn; and Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Gary Roughead.
The conference will also include demonstrations, presentations, and other informative programs to provide delegates an up to date assessment of the progress of the Ballistic Missile Defense Review.
