In Honor of Fallen Comrades, Special Tactics Airmen March On

A group of 12 special tactics airmen walked more than 800 miles and five states for a memorial march to honor 12 special tactics airmen killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The airmen, split in to six teams of two, walked day and night, each carrying a 50-pound rucksack, and a baton engraved with the name of a fallen special tactics airmen.

“This walk shows that with Air Force special operations, you are never forgotten,” said Air Force Master Sgt. Ken Huhman, one of the event’s coordinators and a marcher from the 342nd Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

It is great to see the DOD using new media to get the word out about worthwhile topics such as this one. Noone deserves more respect and praise then those that have died protecting our freedoms!
