How is the Power Generation and electrical Grid Restoration coming. I was in American Samoa in the 1970′s when 3 – 4.5 Mw Diesel electric generation complexes were installed to suplement Electrical generation in Amercian Samoa. I am interested in what I can do and others can do to assist in the Electric Grid restoration. I am aware that the main connection for the east and west ends of the island ran along the coast road that I am told was destroyed.

@Don: The main power plant at Satala has been destroyed.. FEMA has pledged $25 million dollars to rebuild the station located in Pago Pago. In the interim, 30 1 megawatt emergency generators will be installed during the projected 3 year reconstruction phase. A second plant located in Tafuna was not damaged. T&D is still intact although feeder lines in Satala were ripped from the transformers.
