DoD Launches Defense.gov

The Department of Defense launched Defense.gov on Aug. 17, a new homepage designed to invite participation from the public and make military news and information more accessible.

The new site embraces social media sites such as youtube, facebook, Twitter, and has a new feature called “We Want to Hear From You” that will give users the opportunity to ask questions of Defense Department leaders, vote on policy issues they want explained, and explore frequently asked questions and answers.

    These are pretty amazing additions, I just stumbled upon the new DoD website, not only is the look pretty cool, but I like the fact they are reaching out through social media channels such as facebook, twitter, etc. I guess it’s a step in the right direction to get America’s youth more interested in politics and what happens in our country. It’s a great idea!
