Defense Secretary Jim Mattis Re-Enlists Old Guard Soldiers

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is a busy man, but never too busy to help his fellow service members. Including helping many of them re-enlist!

Mattis was in Washington, D.C., last week when he stopped by Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia, to re-enlist members of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment (the Old Guard).

At least 30 soldiers were given the re-enlistment oath by their top leader during a ceremony at Whipple Field, which overlooks the Washington Monument and much of D.C.

Mattis shook hands with many of the soldiers and mingled with the families of the re-enlisting service members after the ceremony.
