The SITREP: DoD’s Irma Efforts Continue, Marine Reigns as Top Athlete & More

From the military services and around the DoD, here’s your SITREP for Thursday, September 14, 2017.

  • More than 2,500 Wisconsin National Guard troops headed to Florida to assist the ongoing Hurricane Irma relief effort.
  • Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast dispatched the first of a 17 person Contingency Engineering Response Team to help in Irma relief.
  • Marine successfully defends his championship title at the Marine Corps third annual HITT Tactical Athlete Competition.
  • Barksdale Air Force Base welcomed more than 70 aircraft and nearly 200 personnel as a result of Irma as officials evacuated aircraft ahead of the storm.
