The SITREP: Special Forces Train for Disaster, Marine Corps Family Runs & More

From the military services and around the DoD, here’s your SITREP for Thursday, May 18, 2017.

    • Members of a Special Forces team conducted a search and rescue mission during Vigilant Guard 17-03, a large scale national disaster response exercise conducted in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
    • Marine Corps family honors fellow Marine who has been diagnosed with cancer.
    • Every year, an aircrew is selected for the Clarence Mackay Trophy for accomplishing the most meritorious flight of the year. This year, an AC-130U aircrew from Air Force Special Operations Command was recognized with the honor.
