From the military services and around the DoD, here’s your Daily SITREP for Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016.

    • Full gender integration in the Army is exceeding expectations, with more than 300 women successfully recruited or transferred into the service’s most physically demanding career fields in 2016.
    • After nearly 25 years of serving the country, the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) is preparing to take an extended, well deserved break for its Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) maintenance period.
    • Deployed airmen often miss opportunities afforded to those back home, but the Air Force is making sure they won’t miss a chance to chase their dreams of becoming part of the first group of enlisted pilots since World War II.
    • This fiscal year, Marines will receive smart phones that make calling for fire support easier, quicker and more accurate.
