Family Focus Friday: Benefits for ALL Family Members

Mrs. Laura Stultz, wife of Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Commander of the United States Army Reserve

“A child doesn’t see an active or reserve soldier, just a mommy or daddy.”  ~Mrs. Laura Stultz

As the country continues to move forward, the need to support the family members of our soldiers is becoming more apparent. One recent pledge of solidarity is the new Presidential Directive for Military Families. This commitment is unprecedented and greatly appreciated, but are reserve family members in geographically dispersed locations getting the same benefits that other family members do who live closer to large installations?

That’s the question that Mrs. Stultz, wife of Lt. Gen. Jack Stultz, Chief of the Army Reserve and United States Army Reserve Command, is asking.

She is on a mission to ensure that the thousands of families with service members serving in reserve units be given the same opportunities and assistance as their active duty counterparts.  Whether it’s part time or full time, a service member is a service member, and she is asking that all families – especially all children – be treated with the same respect and given the same chance to participate in some important programs.
